Job Summary:

The Cath Lab Tech is responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional procedures related to coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and cardiac arrhythmias. This role supports the acute care hospital's cardiology and radiology departments by assisting with coronary and peripheral interventions, permanent pacemaker procedures, and ensuring patient safety and care quality. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and adherence to clinical protocols, with a focus on maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Conduct peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Assist with cardiac arrhythmia treatments and permanent pacemaker insertions.
• Maintain proper use of imaging technology and equipment in the Cath Lab.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and monitor patient status throughout procedures.
• Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols within the Cath Lab.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab or related experience.
• ARRT certification.
• Fluoroscopy Permit (pending permits considered if application submitted).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Ability to handle 8-12 procedures daily involving complex cardiac and vascular cases.
• Strong knowledge of coronary and peripheral vascular anatomy and interventions.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with permanent pacemaker procedures.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system.
• Local candidates preferred but not required.

Special Considerations:

• Call requirement is mandatory.
• No weekend work required.
• No floating to other departments.
• Facility allows one shift call-off per two weeks.
• Orientation is approximately 30 hours.
• RTO (Return to Office) must be approved at time of submission.
• Scrub color for Cath Lab staff is provided by the facility.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule to be determined; open to block scheduling.
• Typical daily caseload of 8-12 procedures.
• Shift assignments based on facility needs and call schedule.
