Department Summary

The Division on Music Education strives to prepare students for a career in music education.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the Early Childhood Music program requiring a general in-depth knowledge of function/specialization. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks which may include program planning and development curriculum development community outreach assisting in developing and conducting training programs developing learning assessments reporting program marketing and budget monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in music education with a specialization in Early Childhood Music and three years of related experience.

• Lead groups of children and supervising students
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of populations

Preferred Qualifications

Music Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Music

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Degree in Music Education

Job Duties

• Prepare weekly lessons.
• Lead class.
• Advertise to program to the community.
• Supervise student workers.

Physical Requirements

• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Repetitive motions that may include the wrists hands and/or fingers.

Environmental Hazards

• No adverse environmental conditions expected.
