About Us

Ark Container Rentals provides storage container rentals, sales, and modifications to commercial and residential customers. We’re looking for an organized, dependable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping, customer paperwork, and billing for our growing business.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with ownership and our operations team to maintain accurate financial records, manage customer billing, organize lease documents, and process rental and sales orders. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, catches discrepancies early, and follows through without constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare, process, and review rental and sales orders and invoices, including recurring rentals, deliveries, pickups, container sales, and modifications.
• Ensure billing reflects rental start dates, returns, rate changes, and customer agreements.
• Maintain organized customer files, including lease agreements, rental and sales orders, invoices, and supporting documents.
• Track signed lease documents, follow up on missing paperwork, and keep complete, up-to-date records for each customer.
• Record customer payments, deposits, credits, and refunds accurately.
• Monitor overdue accounts and follow up professionally on outstanding balances.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and customer accounts.
• Review vendor invoices, resolve discrepancies, and prepare payments for approval.
• Submit invoices and supporting documentation through customer payment portals when required.
• Support month-end close and prepare financial reports for ownership.
• Coordinate with our outside accountant on reporting, tax preparation, and year-end records.
• Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping, billing, and document management processes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage recurring billing, customer documentation, and multiple priorities.
• Clear, professional communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
• Experience in equipment rental, construction, trucking, or a similar industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with RMI Advantage 365 or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
